Treatment process

1

Examination and assessment

The doctor examines the teeth, records their current color, and notes the condition of any existing dental restorations

2

Cleaning the teeth

The surface of the teeth is cleaned in preparation for whitening

3

Protecting the gums

The gums and surrounding soft tissue are shielded from the whitening agent

4

Carrying out the whitening treatment

At the clinic: The gums and soft tissue are shielded, and the whitening agent is applied by the doctor according to the standard procedure.

At home: A personal tray is custom-fitted, and the patient is instructed on the amount of product to use, the duration of each application, and how to use the tray correctly.

5

Checking the results

The tooth color is evaluated after treatment, along with guidance on how to care for the teeth afterward

Post-treatment care instructions

1
Limit strongly colored foods and drinks

Avoid coffee, tea, tobacco, and other strongly colored foods or beverages during the first 24 to 48 hours after treatment

2
Managing sensitivity

If sensitivity occurs following whitening, use a toothpaste, gel, or other sensitivity-relief product as recommended by the doctor

3
Follow the prescribed treatment schedule

Do not extend the application time or increase the concentration of the whitening agent on your own, as doing so may affect the tooth enamel

Warranty and follow-up visits

Over time, the color of the teeth may darken again due to food, beverages, tobacco use, oral hygiene habits, and the natural process of aging. For this reason, teeth whitening is not a treatment that can be guaranteed to produce permanent results.

Patients are advised to return for follow-up visits as instructed, so that the doctor can check the color of the teeth, assess any sensitivity, and advise on the appropriate timing for repeating the whitening treatment if needed. Whitening treatment should not be repeated on one’s own without the doctor’s guidance.
